Dale Herd | Dreamland Court

Dale Herd is a writer and producer, living in Los Angeles, California, USA, where we met him in the summer of 2019. We stayed in the guest house of their house in Beverly Hills during the 10 days that we visited Los Angeles. In the run-up to our stay there, we had an exceptionally nice contact with his wife Deborah Blum via e-mail. It turned out that we had the same love and taste for art and we were soon invited to view the art collection in their house after arriving.

Dale turned out to be a particularly amiable man with the most cheerful and funny anecdotes and stories about artists, actors and other artists that he knew or had met. He has a rich way of telling stories and has published his stories in a number of books. During our stay, he was putting the finishing touches to his latest book, the novella ‘Dreamland Court’. A story that he liked to see in a certain format, but had no idea how to realize it. Of course, we were able to help him with that.

After four months of proposals, adjustments, corrections and hilarious emails, the book has been created. Dreamland Court is a book. Step 1 has been taken. Step 2 is finding a publisher …

Below is the preview of the first chapter.

"Known for his brilliant short prose pieces as published in the books Early Morning Wind, Wild Cherries, Diamonds and Empty Pockets, Dale Herd is a meticulous recorder of the language we move around in, and he possesses the skill and guts to take it all the way. His underground novel Dreamland Court is simply a masterpiece."
